AHIPP (Large)

With the recent changes over the obligatory nature of the Home Condition Report, the Association of HIP Providers (AHIPP) has decided to push ahead with promoting its “early rollout” of Home Information Packs in a selected number of locations across the country.

The Association has always been committed to test the introduction of HIPs, along with its member firms. Indeed, the Association made an announcement earlier this year that it would be starting trials of HIPs in a number of locations, and the latest announcement with an increased number of cities is welcomed.

The locations that have been selected are;

  • Southampton
  • Newcastle
  • Northampton
  • Bath
  • Huddersfield
  • Cambridge

There has been an amount of confusion over the role of AHIPP in the government’s planned “Dry Run” due later this year, with many observers under the impression that AHIPP would be running this. However, Paul Broadhead, Deputy Director General of AHIPP explains the position.

“While this is an AHIPP roll out, independent of Government intervention, we will also be happy to work with Government to further introduce packs in their chosen locations early in 2007, once these have been identified. Equally, we are prepared to share with them our findings, collated through independent testing of the packs across the market.
