Home Information Packs required for all properties

All qualifiying properties that are being brought to the market for the first time must have a HIP commissioned before marketing may begin.

The current requirements are

• Properties already on the market do not need a HIP
• HIPs need only be commissioned before marketing may begin
• Energy charts are required on property particulars when an EPC becomes available
• EPC may be up to 1 year old for inclusion in the HIP
• All newbuild properties need to have a HIP

From January 1st 2009, the HIP has to be in place before a property can be marketed.
