HOME INFORMATION PACKS (HIPs)

HIPs are designed to provide your buyer’s solicitor with the legal documents required to complete the purchase, earlier in the process than previously.

Obtaining the documents earlier help ensure problems with titles and searches are resolved in advance and helps avoid last-minute delays in the process.

The minimum documents that must be included, are:

• Energy Performance Certificate
• Property Information Questionnaire
• Evidence of title
• Title documents
• Local authority searches
• Drainage searches
• Leasehold documentation (where appropriate)
